Manchester Water Taxis

Have you been on the Manchester Water Taxis yet? Not only are they are great way of getting around and seeing the city, but if you have young children, they can totally be considered an activity in themselves…

The WAXIs as they are lovingly known, launched into the Bridgewater Canal in 2016, reviving some of Manchester’s most cherished heritage; it’s waterways, and making them accessible to a whole new generation. Did you know the Bridgewater Canal was the first totally artificial waterway in the world? Amazing really.

The boats run between Castlefield and Sale (weekdays only), Old Trafford, the Trafford Centre and Hotel Football. They also run special cruises for groups. We took a trip on one as part of our recent article for Manchester Confidential and it was great to get a new perspective on the city and so exciting for kids.

Tickets start from £3 and at the time of publishing a 10% discount code was available on the website. Happy cruising everyone…
