If you follow our instagram you may recall me loitering around Central Library checking out a Harry Potter display. Well it turns out that this was a mere tease for a rather special Potter-inspired event the Library has in store… The event includes:

The Battle of the Wizards All is not what it seems as a Deatheater, an agent of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, has been seen stalking the library. Fearing that Voldemort has returned and is trying to steal a powerful magical artefact, Professor Dumbledore summons Harry Potter, the boy who lived, to his side. Together they must outwit, out-duel and outsmart the devious Lucius Malfoy before it’s too late. Featuring action, excitement and comedy, this show is sure to bring a little magic to any Harry Potter fan’s day.

The Sorting Hat Dare you be sorted by the Sorting Hat? Will you be a Hufflepuff, or do you think that Slytherin is the right house for your skills?

Hagrid’s Magical Games join Hogwarts’ groundskeeper as he teaches pupils of all ages some of the tricks he’s learned but, of course, he’s strictly forbidden from performing magic outside Hogwarts!

Magical Crafts and Activities including the chance to make your own house badge, broomstick, magic wand or golden snitch. Plus face painting, green screen animation and wizard selfies!

During the event you will also get the opportunity to meet various characters from the stories.  Including –

Harry Potter

Albus Dumbledore

Professor Snape

Professor Trelawney

Rubeus Hagrid

Professor McGonagall

Professor Sprout

and Lucius Malfoy!

This is a free drop-in event for fans of all ages. The library aims to offer activities and crafts to as many people as possible, but please be aware that places and materials are limited.
